This past weekend I attended the annual Georgia Art Educators' Association fall conference. I spent time with some amazing art educator friends who I love dearly. I am so blessed to have them in my life - professionally and personally.
I attended some great workshops and learned a lot for my classroom. I also presented a Kindergarten unit I taught last year. We relaxed and played a bit, too. There will be some interesting stories from the weekend - mainly about my talking, laughing, and screaming in my sleep! Sorry, ladies! I apologize for waking you up! The highlight of the trip was the opportunity to pick up and drop off the keynote speaker, Olivia Gude, from the airport. She is a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and community artist who works to promote creativity and comprehensive curriculum for art education. I have read her work and been inspired by her for years. She is amazing - down to earth, thoughtful, and delightfully conversational. It was such an honor to get to spend time with her! Learn more about her here! See a video snippet from the weekend!
