I had a wonderful birthday week celebrating 29! It was laid back, relaxed, and just what I wanted! ...I am a little behind with my blogging, my birthday was back in September! I did not have issues with my birthday this year, nor last year. But 27 got me! (Sounds silly, I know!) I stressed about 27 for almost six months BEFORE my birthday. I think it was the fact that I could no longer say "mid-20s" but was suddenly considered a "late 20s". I have since gotten over that stress, and I'm not even worried about 30...yet. :) Brian planned a perfect birthday celebration - Trip to the High Museum to see my FAVORITE piece "Girl with a Pearl Earring and then dinner at another favorite, CPK. For those of you who don't know our abbreviation, that would be California Pizza Kitchen. We actually went to the High the weekend before my birthday, beginning my birthday week! On my actual birthday, my parents came over for lunch. We went to the Chinese restaurant around the corner from our apartment - Taipei Restaurant. This place has quickly become a favorite! The food is delicious! They have an "American" and a "Chinese" menu. I am able to get beef noodles just like the noodles I got in Taiwan this past summer. Yum. I think we could easily say we eat there at least once a week! We must be careful though; any place that Brian and I make a regular spot...closes! Crossing our fingers that our frequent carry out orders will keep Taipai in business. After cake and ice cream, we spent some much needed time with my parents just talking, catching up, and watching Wheatley play (since he's the grand-cat!)
And as if I had not eaten enough at lunch...Brian and I decided to go out for a birthday dinner, too! We chose Olive Garden because they were doing the endless pasta bowl special. Haha, we do love a good deal! Even with the incredibly full stomach, I had a wonderful birthday and a great start to my 29th year!
