I have the sweetest husband...ever. He planned an entire progressive birthday celebration for me. Everything was a surprise that was revealed as we went along. So. Romantic. The day started with a typical weekend breakfast together. Coffee, toast, oatmeal. Watching a little tv and sitting together on the couch. We had gone to bed kind of early for a weekend, so we were also up early. 8:30 on a Saturday!? Next we went for a walk at a local park. After falling with my bike last week, unfortunately, I have had to scale back my exercise a bit. Skinned knees hurt a lot more as an adult! At the park we ran into a girl scout troop of my students - even on a weekend, I'm Mrs. Arnold! After the park, we had a delicious lunch at Grace 1720. The food was AH-MAZING. I had a fried green tomato sandwich, and Brian had a chicken club sandwich with tomato basil soup. Brian had directed me to "eat light", but everything was so yummy we ended up eating more than we thought AND having dessert! Next, we went shopping! Brian really dislikes shopping, but he offered to take me to any store I wanted! We hit my top stores - got some great deals! I got some shoes for work; instead of the $50 price tag, I got them for $15! And I found some jewelry to complete my outfit for an upcoming banquet. After a few hours of perusing, we went home to relax. After a short nap and some relaxing, we got dressed up for dinner. I got to wear my new teal heels! We had dinner at one of our favorties: Hayakawa Sushi. We sat at the bar - up close and personal! We could watch the sushi being made. It takes such concentration! What an amazing day! Thank you, Brian for a great fake birthday! Love you.
