Brian and I recently purchased road bikes. We want to vary our physical activity, so we don't overdo it in one area and to keep it fun. Now we're running (my least favorite), biking, and rock climbing. I don't know if I'm completely there, but I am very close to reaching my goal of being physically fit by the age of 30!
Both of us have "high" cholesterol. As in higher than where the doctor wants it, not medicine high. This furthered our quest to be active. We're working out more during the week and eating much better. We're as close to vegetarian than ever before. (As close as I think we'll ever get!)
Each Sunday I pack mason jar salads for lunches. They last the week and are so much easier to 'grab n go' in the mornings! Eating better has made such a difference! (Duh, right?) We're feeling great, and seeing positive results. I had Zaxby's for lunch one day and could tell a noticeable difference. I was extremely sluggish and couldn't push harder during our workout that night.
Check out our bikes! I love my teal - It's perfect! Now we just have to solve the storage problem. We have bike racks to hang them in our apartment (which was the original plan), but the wall we had chosen, we have had a hard time finding a stud! We also have to hang them extremely high because of a certain curious cat...
As usual, I am behind on blogging -
Brian celebrated his 29th birthday a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I had already started back to work for pre-planning, so our celebration on his actual birthday was limited to a quick dinner out.
As per tradition, we stuffed our faces until we were crazy full at one of our favorites - California Pizza Kitchen. We really should find a new way to celebrate!
Avocado club egg rolls & Cesar salad to start...
Pasta for Amber; sandwich for Brian.
This is Brian's THIRD cup of ranchito sauce...
Of course, we HAD to get dessert!
We had a more extensive celebration a few days before Brian's birthday. Check out my mother in-law's blog to get the full scoop!
Happy Birthday, Brian!
